BayWatch Foundation is a nongovernmental organization and network
of environmental advocates and groups who are residents of Carrascal,
Cantilan, Madrid, Carmen and Lanuza, Surigao del Sur, embracing
the culture and love for the environment and the commitment
to protect it for the greatest good for the greatest number
of CarCanMadCarLanons.
Cantilangnons converged at the triangle in the
highway crossing in Brgy. Pag-antayan Monday
morning, November 16, 2009 to install a checkpoint
aimed at preventing (Marcventures Mining &
Development Corporation) from transporting its ore
to its illegally constructed stockyard in Brgy.

Ka Rene is a farmer leader and
paralegal of the Sumilao farmers. He began as a very quiet person
then but through the years of struggle and formation
he was transformed into a passionate peasant leader
with deeply rooted principles and vision.
World Earth Day 2009
